Gah

Still in pain. My little finger is swollen and painful, and my range of movements is somewhat reduced. I discovered a whole new realm of agony yesterday whilst making a small item, as I was trying to grip it and manipulate it and it just plain hurt :/ The strapping comes off tomorrow. I am supposed to be using the finger, before everyone shouts at me, because otherwise it will stiffen and the synovial fluid in the joint will 'harden' (actually, I know what happens here as the microbiology of cartilage is one of my specialities, however you would all die of boredom so I'll keep it to myself!) and I can't have that happen.

In other news, we have loads of frost here. The ground is frozen. This makes me scared to go out, because I don't want to fall and damage the pinky still further.

Anyway, some work to do today and tomorrow, then off to Ghost's mam's for 'Christmas' dinner. Then back on Saturday.

I think we are having goose on Christmas day, I've never cooked goose before!

Goose? Why goose?

My humble opinion? I find goose too "oily". Even though it is totally german tradition, we cook turkey instead because of the oil factor.

Ghost has never had goose, and is desperate to try it :) He's not very keen on turkey. In the past we've had pheasant, rabbit, and he has clamoured for venison, but I don't like venison.

I thought goose would be a bit fatty, but he's determined to give it a go!

Well, just to add a little fire to the debate, i like goose, and i don't like turkey, because i feel it's far too dry. that, and the fact that most turkey in the UK is battery farmed (a far higher proportion than goose, anyway), and also occasionally dosed with growth hormones, and antibiotics.
Actually, reading that, you'd think i'm trying to put other people off, but i'm not. if turkey is your thing, fair enough. Oh, and by the way, goose fat makes the best roast potatoes ever!
