The magazine I did some fashion editing on has had a bad review in Meltdown. Apparently it 'can't be an independent magazine' as it is run by a club Promoter (Kev will be pleased with his promotion from general dogsbody to promoter! Go Kev!) and a clothing manufacturer. So Meltdown know who I am, because I used my 'pen name' on the contributor's page as I've done a little bit of writing and wanted to keep continuity.

I'm trying to work up to being upset about a bad review, as I know I should be running round the house spitting mad, but I'm not. I keep breaking out into giggles! I mean, we did a small trial run of an in-house magazine/ fanzine and it got Meltdown's panties in such a fucking bunch that they are accusing us of 'ripping off their ideas' (Where, exactly?). We are considering putting 'as seen in Meltdown Magazine!' on all the advertising for the next issue :D So fucking what if we're not independent, we never claimed to be!

The frenzied phone calls from friends who have picked up a copy mean that I don't have to actually buy one this time round ;) which is nice. I'll just buy Kaleidoscope instead. After all, I can't 'rip off' Meltdown if I don't actually read it, can I?

God, what a lot of drama queening over a fanzine!!!
