That's a hard one. Robert Johnson, maybe. Got to admire a man who reputedly sold his soul to be able to play guitar.

Definitely Billie Holiday - she sounds so amazing on record, seeing her live must have been something else.

Oh oh or Farinelli - the recordings of castrato are so eerie, I'd like to see if the live performances were like that too. Farinelli was reputedly the greatest, so why waste your time with anything less?
